Does my dog really miss me that much?

Has there ever been a day when your coming home from work and your dog is so excited to see you? And he or she brings you a toy or sock? Or does your dog do any of these things?

Well, that is completely normal, your dog just misses you! My Pomeranian does this same thing and at first I thought my dog had a bad memory or something. When I would go out to get the mail and came back in she would act like she hadn't seen me in days.

But I researched it and I found that this is completely normal! After a long day at work you dog has missed you, right? So your dog is just giving you a token to show how much he loves and misses you. Your dog thinks of you as their master and he is giving a gift of love. Isn't it amazing how much your dog understands!?

So in conclusion, don't worry if you see after a short period of time out of the house your dog greets you as if you had gone out on a vacation for a week. Dogs are loving animals they can get very close with you if you let them! Is it just me or do you just adore those little K-9s!

Why does my dog lick everything?

Do you ever see your dog licking the floor or anything all the time? Well that could be a sign of boredom, illness, pain, or stress. Licking is normal for all dogs by licking themselves they clean themselves. Your dog can just be a really clean K-9! Not all licking is bad, dogs use licking to see what the taste of what is in front of them, much like babies and toddlers. But if you see your dog sitting there for hours licking the floor or themselves, you should check with your vet to see if his licking is normal.

The first thing you need to do with an obsessive behavior is to determine which one of the above probelms your pup has. You have to deal with the probelm before you can get results. But either if your dog's licking is normal or needs medical help, just to be safe I would mention it to your vet.

If you see that you dog is down or bored, it could just be sign of boredom which you really don't have to seek medical attention. If you pay attention to your dog's licking and you see that he is licking alot in a certian place that could be a sign of allergies or pain. In that case you should check with your vet to make sure your pup isn't in pain.

But in the end, if you find the probelm in time and give your dog the proper treatment you can stop the bad behavior and your dog will be as good as new! If you see any werid behavior in your dog, licking or biting please contact me so I can try to help you out and give you some personal tips.

How do I starting training my puppy?

Well hey you guys! This is my first post as a puppy blog, and I'm so excited! So here's how it's gonna go down... Every other day I will be post tips, tricks, and guides to training your puppy (dog) to become a superdog. Today I'm gonna start out with how to start, because I mean you have to start somewhere, right? So here it goes:

Be prepared.

The very first thing that you want to do is make sure you have everything you need. Make a list if you have to so that in the middle of a training session you don't get up and leave the room and you lose your puppy's attention. For an example, you might need a bag of treats, a clicker, and your "How to train a dog" book. Make sure that you have everything you need in the room.

Be patient.

Imagine if a big giant came up to you and said, "Sit". I'm sure you would be scared, I know I would be! Anyway, even thought you might think your not scary and that's not your intension, the poor puppy still thinks of you as 8 feet tall in their mind. So when your training your pup try to think as if you were them, even when they don't get it the 1st time, or the 2nd time, or even the 50th time. They'll get it. Puppies are smarter then you think.

Get your family involved.

Don't go into the process of training a puppy by yourself. Find yourself a buddy to help you, or even better get the whole family involved. Maybe you could take shifts throughout the day. For example, if you have to go to work in the morning, your husband can take that morning shift. When you get back from work you could do the afternoon shift. And if you go to work late on day you could swich it up. Training is always more with a buddy by your side!

Have a "happy"word.

Bond with your puppy get to before you start training. Maybe pet it, rub it's belly, scratch behind his ears. While you are giving him/her some loving time try to say some calming words. Such as "good girl/boy" or "nice dog". This will help your puppy to incorporate those words with something good. You will not believe how much this will help later down the road.

Treat generously.

Always make sure that you are never not rewarding your dog after they do something good. Whether it's a toy or treat or cuddles make sure for every trick they work for you you treat them with a reward.

Have a after-session cuddle.

The one thing dogs all over the world is cuddles. So what I do with my dog, Zuly, is after every session we have we have some time with each other. This way I'm telling her how much I love and appreciate all the hard work she is doing for me. Even if it's just 3 or 4 minutes, have some sunggle time.

Well, I really hope this was helpful to all those people out their with new puppy who they want to train but have know idea where to start. Man, I wish someone could have taught me. ;) Give me some feedback on my blog in the comments box below! Hope your having an awesome Thursday night!

Calling all creative people!

Thanks for all the amazing comments I will try to make this blog the best it can be but you'll just have to be patient with me. I'm still working out all the kinks, but this is going to become.....(drum roll please..) a dog and puppy blog. On this blog from now on I will be posting pics and sharing tips on all things K-9 (sorry cat lovers). But I need your help I'm not very creative and I can't think of anything I should put as my background. I would like to have something cute and creative, but as you have advised me, something not so loud.

I really like the colors hot pink, turquoise, and lime green. So if in anyway that can fit that theme of my blog that would be great! So basically I'm letting you create my blog background. Feel free to send me any links, videos, or pictures of blogs you think are nice or pictures of patterns you like for me.I'll look through them all and pick my favorite. (Remember I'm a loud person so don't give me any granny pattern or colors)

Also does anybody know how to make a logo (blue) for the name of my blog. Because I don't know how I see all these beautiful logos on peoples walls and I kinda get jealous. I would love to have a picture of a dog somewhere but I don't think that possible. Is it?

P.s. As soon as I find my winner I'll start renovating my blog around my background! So exciting!!
